Louis Vuitton: Graffiti and Roses

January 28, 2009

While in Paris I loved looking at all the great designer window displays. Thanks to Marc Jacobs the Louis Vuitton window had tons of bright colored (huge trend for spring!) roses that were very reminiscent of Betsey Johnson and graffiti was emblazoned on everything from swimsuits to scarves and trainers to keepalls! Perhaps you remember their 2001 line with a similar, yet much less colorful, design. This season’s graffiti and rose collection is a homage to Stephen Sprouse (deceased designer who was known originally for his day-glo bright graffiti printed fashion collections) who collaborated with Marc Jacobs for LV in 2001 to make the original graffiti bags. (Harper’s Bazaar apparently ran a story about this, but I don’t get US mags over here so sorry if this is old news for you!!)

It’s not typically something that I’d love, but for some reason I’m really diggin it! Here are pics of the windows that I took while in Paris :]
